"The Eighties"
Eighties yourself

At CNN, for our original series launch of "The Eighties," I conceptualized and worked with an agency to create a microsite where viewers could "eighties themselves." I wanted to bring a new level of interactivity and a way where fans could also share their images widely across social.
The microsite no longer works, but it allowed you to upload a headshot or use your camera to snap a photo. Then you'd be given the chance to add hair, glasses, accessories before the site would apply an 80s filter to the image. Once done up, you'd be able to share your photo with the world and we made a "yearbook" collection of all the photos that would update in realtime on CNN.com.
Grand Central Station Arcade
"Replay The Eighties” was an event we did at New York City’s Grand Central Station, allowing fans to play popular 1980s arcade games for free. This event was built for social media and digital activation.
"Soundtracks"
Pop-up concert in NYC
New Yorkers whose commute includes a stop at the Columbus Circle subway station got a surprise treat with an acoustic performance from Melissa Etheridge. The Grammy-winning songwriter performed for a small huddle of onlookers, singing the pop standard “On Broadway” and the Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” Etheridge's pop-up appearance was in support of the upcoming CNN show Soundtracks.
